Responsibilities: What you will do

Battery Data Analytics:

  • Provide statistical and data analytical support for battery performance prediction and compliance validation.
  • Support the development and validation of battery diagnostic algorithms.
  • Estimate the accuracy of the battery diagnostic algorithms.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis on battery performances to the variabilities of battery components and designs.

Design and Data Analytical Tool Development:

  • Develop and deploy user friendly tools (such as GUI-based software).
  • Work with modeling scientists /engineers to implement new features.
  • Deploy tools to broader user community.
  • Train user community in use of tool, and track feedback for future changes

Life and Warranty Analysis:

  • Develop forecasts, provide analytical insights, and conduct risk analysis for battery life and warranty rate based on battery data collected from various sources, including lab testing, sampling from recycling centers, junk bin, fleet testing, warranty data, compliance and plant production data using probabilistic, statistical, risk management and actuarial analysis methodologies.
  • Quantify and track changes over time.
  • Work with business and engineering community to determine root cause for changes in trends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: What we look for

  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline with statistical focus, Mathematics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Economics. Background (graduate or undergraduate) in both science/engineering and business is preferred. Ph.D. and MBA candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Highly experienced in Python or equivalent software coding
  • Proficient in data regression techniques and statistical analysis
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industry related projects is required.
  • Experience in battery testing protocol development and performance validation is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated track record of project or personnel leadership is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is a must, German nice to have.
  • Travel up to 15%, including international
