In our company your responsible for:

  • Position is for an Applications Engineer with expert measurement knowledge (theory and practice) in on-wafer semiconductor device test. Main focus will be on Silicon Photonics applications (SiPh), and DC test applications.
  • The position will report into the System Business Unit CoE (Center of Expertise), working with the global expert team of CoE Applications Engineers to bring the ‘voice of the customer’ into new product development and Sales support activities.
  • The COE AE will be responsible for definition, applications testing, and demo planning for new products, working in project teams together with engineering, product marketing, and manufacturing using the PLC (Product Life Cycle) process.
  • This AE position will also provide technical training to Field Sales Applications Engineers, including developing technical training material, hands-on demos, and workshops in demo locations around the world. Some backup sales support for Field/Sales Applications Engineer´s and sales managers will occasionally be needed.
  • Work may include small projects for advanced research and technology pathfinding activities
  • Individual must be a continual learner growing technical expertise & knowledge, attend conferences & customer meetings, and keep up with latest technical measurement techniques and customer needs.

What should you bring to us:

  • Education: Min requirement BS with focus on Physics or another related discipline (Optics, Electrical Engineering, Material science / Chemical Engineering). MS or PhD studies preferred.
  • Field AE experience nice to have ( or technical sales experience )
  • Technical understanding of semiconductor industry, wafer probers, and test application technologies is desirable
  • Semiconductor device experience recommended (Beam optics, waveguides, optical transceivers, VXCEL, photo diodes)
  • Skills, Characteristics: Analytical / troubleshooting skills, Understanding of Statistics, ability to problem solve with multi-discipled engineering team (software, electrical, optical)
  • Excellent understanding of business practices
  • Communicative personality with a willingness to travel internationally, very good presentation and negotiation skills, flexibility, intercultural skills and a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Business fluent in German and English
